| FAQ Index InterNIC FAQ When will my Domain work? This depends on the company you use to register the domain. In most cases, the domain will be up and running within 24 hours of you completing the order with your preferred registrar. If you sign up for a third level domain name (yourdomain.speedhost.com), then the address will be working as soon as your account is created (which is usually just minutes after you hit the "Process Order" button). What is a Third Level Domain? A third level domain, also known as a sub-domain, is one that goes before a second level domain, or what is known as a domain name. Second level domains are known like "SpeedHost.Com". Any sub-domain like www, support, mail are known as Third Level Domains. How do I modify my Domain Name? The same form that is used to register a Domain Name is used to modify a Domain Name. However, similar to the way New Domains are handled, SpeedHost.Com will try to modify your Domain information when you sign up. However if you type a different address when you sign up for SpeedHost.Com than the one you have on your InterNIC record, then the process will not go through, as the InterNIC automated system will probably not recognize you and for security reasons, not accept the request. For that reason we may have to contact you while the InterNIC process is in effect. How much is a third level domain? Third Level domains will add a $3.00 charge to your next payments. It is a monthly fee, and it will be in effect as soon as you request it. Do I need to register the Domain Name? Yes. Previously, we were able to register the domains for our customers, but different companies have added steps to the process, making it difficult and tedious for us to help our customers with this process. It would be convenient, but not required, for you to have the domain registered before you place the order with us. What are the DNS Servers for SpeedHost.Com?
